GUILD OVERVIEW
Sufferance was founded by a group of people that consisted primarily of former leaders and members of several BC raiding guilds. Quite a few of those people have been together for many years, in WoW and other games. Since its founding, we have been lucky enough to add many great new people to our Guild, which make Sufferance what it is today.
Sufferance takes its guild image seriously. We stay out of server drama, public channel spam, PvP-related insult fests, and the flame-wars of the forums. Sufferance Members remain mature and respectful in their interactions with others on the server. These high standards are largely what make Sufferance an exception.
Who Are We Looking For?
We're interested in highly-skilled applicants with good raiding experience (mostly ToC+ gear and a solid raiding history preferred) and play times that match our raiding hours. Applicants must read over our Guild Rules prior to applying. We want applicants who fully know what they're getting into and what would be expected of them as members of Sufferance. We're only interested in people with quick reactions and the ability to learn new encounters rapidly. If you can't handle PvP because it's too fast-paced and frantic, then end-game play with a serious raiding guild is not for you either.
The front page of our site will detail what we're specifically looking for at the moment; however we're always willing to consider any qualified applicant.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
Play Hard
Members of Sufferance are expected to be online and on time for scheduled events and post when RL hinders that ability. Membership in Sufferance requires a high level of dedication and commitment. We cannot accept the conflict of interest or sharing of time that would result from belonging to another guild in WoW. Members that disappear without having told us in advance that they are going to be away will be removed with the assumption they have retired.
Act Professional
Members should always be polite, stay out of arguments, never insult others, and especially stay out of the drama and flaming that permeates the Uldaman forum. Our name will show up on the Uldaman forum from time to time. Do not get involved. Guild chat can be a fun and goofy place at times, but it still needs to be a place where all are reasonably comfortable. This means that heavy vulgarity, leet speak (suxxors, pwn), and sex or drug chatter (beyond subtle joking) is not to be used.
No Drama
At no time will any fighting, insults, or whining on guild channels be tolerated. Disputes should be discussed in tells, and folks finding themselves at odds with a guild mate should contact an Officer.
Be Generous
Items needed by the guild are not to be sold or traded. Always keep the guild's best interests in mind when you're playing, even outside of raids. If you have any questions about this, just ask an Officer.
Spread the Wealth
We believe in putting items in the hands of those that can best use them. Our EP/GP system works to ensure that the people you're raiding with are as strongly geared as possible. Attendance to raids is one of the largest factors in loot decisions, so be online and help each other out! Items should never go to an Alt over a Veteran, Initiate, or Member.
Stay Involved
Read the guild forums daily. Research and discuss strategy tactics. Find out how changes to your class will adjust your playing and keep up-to-date on class mechanics. Keep private guild or forum discussions private and do not share your forum account information.
/gquiting
If you chose to leave this guild we ask that you at least try to talk to the Guild Master or one of the Officers in game beforehand. If we have talked to you about resolving the issues to no avail or if you just feel in your heart that this guild is not a good fit for you, we will wish you the best of luck and see you on your way. We would expect you to de-guild during your normal play times and let the guild know you are moving on.
GENERAL CONDUCT
The following behaviors are not permitted under any circumstances:
• Racism, sexism, bigotry or promotion of real-life violence towards another person. This includes using slurs based on race, color, creed, sex, or sexual identity.
• Harassment of fellow players, whether in guild or not.
• Openly arguing or defying policies and decisions made by the leadership.
• Unethical playing. Those caught using exploits, hacking, ninja-ing, intentionally wiping a group or otherwise playing unethically will be removed.
• Spamming. Whether in general chat, guild chat, yells or ventrilo.
• Unnecessary Drama.
The following may result in you being removed from the guild:
• Violating the code of conduct.
• Threatening to leave the guild.
• Applying to another guild.
• Profiting from withdrawals from the guild bank.
RAIDING
Raid Schedule for 25 Man Raiding
Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 8:30 PM to 11:30 PM EST.
Raid Schedule for 10 Man Raiding (No EPGP)
Friday/Saturday 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM EST. (unless posted/invited otherwise)
Invites to Scheduled Raids will start at 8:00 PM Server Time. We will issue "On Time" EP (50) to everyone that is signed up for the raid and at the instance entrance at 8:15 PM Server Time. Those who are not signed up, or those who arrive after 8:20 PM Server Time will be automatically placed on standby. The Officers will arrange the raid between 8:20 and 8:30 PM Server Time, first pull to initiate immediately thereafter.
Those who are on standby will receive 100% of raid EP, so long as they are 1) Raiding Rank, 2) signed up for the raid and 3) available to take a spot in the raid within 5 minutes of the request.
Those who sign up for raid and fail to show will be issued a GP penalty of 50.
No raiding with other Guilds unless it has been cleared by an Officer or the Guild Master.
Notice is required if you are expected to raid that night but cannot be available. Regular raid participants should always notify an Officer of their planned absence. The preferred method of notification is by posting on the forums.
Raid Spot Priority
Priority for Raid Spots are given in the following order: 1) Sign Ups, 2) Rank.
Raid Preparation
Flasks/Elixirs are expected for all participants. Players should have a minimum of 3 flasks (or equivalent of elixirs) for each raid.
Potions are expected for all participants. Healers and Casters should have a minimum of 15 mana potions. Tanks should have a minimum of 15 health potions.
Reagents are expected for those classes that provide raid buffs. If you are sharing the buffing responsibilities with one other person, you should have a minimum of 60 of the required reagents. If you are the only one buffing, you should have a minimum of 120 reagents.
While fish feast is often provided, you are expected to bring your own raid food, as it may not always be available. This is also important if specific food is more beneficial to your current stats than fish feast.
Required Add-ons
The following add-ons are required by everyone:
• Omen
• Deadly Boss Mods
• ORa2
Raiding Alts (and spec changes)
If you do feel strongly about switching your raiding main or drastically changing your spec, then please speak to your Officers to understand the implications. If there is a need for the class/spec you would like to make your main, we may be able to put you in right away as a raiding player. If you are moving into an already overpopulated class/role, there may not be availability for that role. Please let us know if you are still willing to raid on your former main until there is a spot available for your new main. If not, you will be considered a non-raiding member of the guild and will only be considered as an alternate for raids.
GUILD LEADERSHIP AND RANKS
Guild Master:
The Guild Master is an Officer who also fills the administrative position for managing ranks and guild talents (Patch 4.0). The GM position is more of a "Founder" position than a CEO-type of position. Significant decisions are made by majority vote of the Officers (of which the GM is a part) and the general consent of the Guild Members.
Officers:
The Officers act as the guild's primary leadership and a majority Officer vote will be the final say on any and all decisions. The Officers organize raids, make loot decisions, handle issues, and make decisions based on the general will of the guild (we may ignore general guild consensus on extremely rare occasions when we feel it is best based on the information at hand).
Banker:
The Banker is responsible for stocking and maintaining the Guild Bank, and distributing items to the Guild. ALL requests for bank items need to go through the Banker. The regulations for acquiring Bank Items from the Guild Bank are posted on our forums.
Veteran Raider:
Veteran Raider rank is attained by maintaining average attendance above 75%. Veteran Raiders show the highest level of commitment to Sufferance and therefore, Raid positions and Loot will be distributed with a priority to this Rank.
Raiding Member:
Raiding Member is attained by making it through the initiate period and maintaining at least 50% attendance thereafter. The majority of Sufferance fall into this category, but that in no way makes it ordinary. Attaining the rank of "Raiding Member of Sufferance" should be considered an honor as we have the most difficult Initiate process on Uldaman. Sufferance is honored to have these fine individuals amongst its ranks.
Initiates:
All initiates are required to go through a Trial Period of four weeks maintaining at least a 75% raid attendance. The purpose of the initiate phase is to allow the initiate to grow acclimated to the guild and to prove themselves. During the first two weeks of this period, Initiates are not eligible for loot from progression raids (EP will still be accrued). During the second two weeks of the initiate period, initiates may roll for loot, however are outranked by Raiders and Veteran Raiders. Initiates performance will be evaluated and discussed on our guild forums.
Inactive:
Raiders that have fallen below 50% on attendance. Inactives can return to Raider rank through a second Initiate period.
Alts:
We freely tag everyone's alts so that we are always in communication with the guild. Everyone needs to remember that their primary focus should always be on playing their main character, both for their own character development and to assist others with quests, instance runs, etc. Alts rank the lowest for items, raid slots, and more.
Current Officers:
Baalzebub (GM), Incabulos, Tallgeese, UnionJustice, Jetlag
Current Banker:
Kynsie
